There are two major dietic errors committed by many in modern society.

Wrong modes of eating

Eating without hunger Eating hurriedly without chewing Eating foods in wrong combinations Eating when one is emotionally upset Eating just before commencing ones daily work

Wrong choice of foods

Consuming refined, processed, tinned, bottled, packed foods lacking nutrients Taking in very little vegetables or fruits in the diet Resorting to fried food Taking cooked food long after their preparation

Methods of Fasting

Only on juices of seasonal fruits and vegetables On coconut water On seasonal fruits and vegetables On food without salt

Fasting as a cure

Periodical fasting even when one is healthy ensures the observance of vital economy Fasting is not starvation. The fear that fasting can weaken the body is baseless Sensible fasting off and on is the one sure way to keep the digestive system in tone It improves our ability to digest better and assimilate nutrients properly
For diseases like cancer, total fasting on juices like coconut water would help in radically curing the disease quickly. Partial fasting on fruits and vegetables can be resorted once considerable improvement is seen
Fasting once a week helps in rejuvenating and conserving the energy that otherwise would have been spent in digesting the foods
Develops a strong will power
Helps in cleansing the body toxins
Helps in controlling weight
Helps in maintaining a feeling of lightness in the body

Breaking a fast

A complete fast should be broken with consumption of vegetable or fruit juice. Food should not be taken immediately as real hunger should be allowed to emerge. Food should be consumed slowly as the stomach should not be overburdened by eating too much as it can negate the effects of fasting.
